About Chef K

Garden State native Kimanzi Waller, known to his friends and clients as “Chef K,” isn’t your typical chef. Originally from Newark, NJ, Chef K now calls Central Pennsylvania home. For the last seven months he’s embarked on the exciting and ambitious launch of his own grand food experiment in the Harrisburg hamlet of Mechanicsburg.

As the founder, owner, CEO and head chef of Kravings by K, the self-described “foodieologist” remains committed to his New Jersey culinary roots. His personal style is just as “Jerz.” Chef K is entirely self-taught having worked his way up as sous chef at several restaurants throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. While Chef K enjoyed impressive success as a banquet and executive chef, he yearned for something more. Today, Chef K and Kravings by K are serving up some of Central PA’s most delectable dishes, and he encourages you to indulge in his latest foodie creations.

From creative appetizers to healthy salads, skewers, pasta, and gourmet meals, Chef K is ready to cook for and cater your next event. For the last three decades, Chef K has been developing his artistic culinary abilities. Now he wants to bring his love of food and his passion for food knowledge to your palate.

Chef K travels throughout his home state of Pennsylvania as well as New Jersey, New York, Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware.

Let’s face it. Planning a large gathering at a dedicated event space (weddings, corporate or social events, and concessions) or in your home requires work – lots of it. From making your food selections and navigating specific guest requests for religious observances, allergies, or personal preferences, to organizing food setup and delivery, planning your event requires a significant investment of time. For many of us with full-time jobs and other family/life responsibilities, there just aren’t enough hours in the day to get it all done! With Chef K and the Kravings by K team, apologizing to your guests after a less-than-perfect event is entirely off the table. (No pun intended.) We are committed to delivering only the best catering services that Central PA has to offer. No matter your culinary desire, we will meet your expectations! A customized menu is our specialty. With Chef K holding the reigns (and the spatula) assisting with the entire meal setup, from start to finish, you’ll know you’re working with a pro.
